Joe has been practicing construction law for over 30 years and is licensed in Massachusetts, New York, and Vermont.  Joe is an adjunct professor of construction law at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. He is a construction arbitrator and a member of the American Arbitration Association Dispute Resolution Board (DRB) Panel of Neutrals. He is also certified as a mediator. Prior to beginning his law career, Joe worked as an engineer in New York, having previously graduated from the Virginia Military Institute in 1983 with a degree in civil engineering. Joe is chambers certified and was recently voted a “Go To” Construction Lawyer in Massachusetts by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly. 

Fran started the firm in 1978 as a carpenter with a background in industrial engineering management.  He has steadily grown the business into a $75 million general contracting and construction management firm, employing 50 people and specializing in complex projects in the education, historic renovation, affordable housing, and public markets. He holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, as well as his Construction Supervisor, Public Safety, Boston Builder, Welder, Hoisting, and Commercial Maritime Captain’s Licenses.

Tom Dunn concentrates his practice in construction law and business dispute resolution representing clients in various sectors of the construction industry, including power generation, utility and road work, painting, and plumbing and mechanical work. He is experienced with multiparty, complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Tom is also experienced with alternative dispute resolution including various forms/methods of mediation, dispute review boards, and arbitration.  He also provides contract drafting, review, and negotiation services. 

Tom lives in North Attleboro, MA and is licensed to practice in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and California (inactive status).

Deborah Griffin is in Holland & Knight's Construction Practice Group.  Her clients include contractors, construction managers and owners in default situations before and during litigation or bankruptcy proceedings. She helped draft ConsensusDocs BIM Addendum.

Her practice includes structuring project delivery methods; drafting & negotiating construction, design & construction management contracts; contract interpretation; contract administration; claim avoidance counseling; public procurement laws; construction industry labor & employment issues; OSHA & building code matters; change order management; project close-out; assessment, preparation & defense of claims; litigation & arbitration of construction disputes; contract default management & providing general business advice to construction industry clients.

Michael O’Brien serves as Gilbane’s Massachusetts District Operations Manager, where he oversees all operations department activities in the state with a focus on customer satisfaction, quality, training, and adherence to policies and procedures. Gilbane’s Massachusetts District office employs over 150 employees who deliver a full range of preconstruction, construction and program management services. O’Brien presently oversees various projects in the Commonwealth including the large scale DCAM Worcester Psychiatric Hospital.

Tony is Co-chair of the firm's Construction Law Practice. He represents contractors, owners, developers, and public authorities across a wide range of construction-related issues in both the public and private sectors including contract drafting, bidding issues, job problems, change order disputes, mechanics’ liens, bond claims, terminations, and delay claims.

Tony has represented clients in numerous major construction trials, arbitrations, and mediations. He is a frequent lecturer in the area of construction law, particularly in the area of arbitration and mediation of construction disputes. Tony received his BA from Harvard University and his JD from Northeastern University.
