The Legislative Committee works with the Staff and the AGC MA Lobbyist to review and formulate positions on several hundred bills that directly and indirectly impact the construction industry. In addition, the Committee at the direction of the Board drafts AGC legislation and advocates for bills that positively impact CM/GC’s and the industry as a whole.
The Chapter 149A Task Force is the chief liaison with all state awarding authorities on all matters re: procurement and implementation of the CM at Risk delivery system and all matters re: Chapter 149 and 149A public bidding statutes, MBE/WBE and other regulations and the implementation of industry best practices among the agencies procuring vertical construction projects.
The four new Co-Chairs are taking over the reins from Mike O’Brien (Gilbane), new 2018-2020 AGC MA Chairman of the Board. Mike served as Chair of both Committees for the past five years.
